Description
Created for the Nando’s Hot Young Designer Competition, the Sangu Bench won in 2020 as a COVID-response bench — designed to encourage safe, communal seating while celebrating cultural heritage. Inspired by the sangu, the traditional Xitsonga grass mat, its form captures the folds and fluidity of woven grass, transforming a familiar object into a sculptural design.
